A cat in Create-a-Pet for The Sims 2: Pets

Create a Pet is the section of Create a Sim where the player creates pets in The Sims 2: Pets, The Sims 3: Pets, The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs and The Sims 4: Horse Ranch. Unlike The Sims: Unleashed where the player is only able to buy a pet and choose from a few breeds, The Sims 2: Pets, The Sims 3: Pets, The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs and The Sims 4: Horse Ranch allows the player to create their own from pre-set breeds or create a completely new one.

The Sims 2

In The Sims 2: Pets, the Create-A-Pet feature is part of CAS. An adult or elder dog or cat can be added to the family. There are many options to customize the appearance of a pet as well as preset breeds. A pet's personality and name can then be chosen. The player can also unlock many new coats and collars through in-game experiences.

The Sims 3

In The Sims 3: Pets, cats, dogs, and horses can be made in Create a Pet, and there are many pre-made breeds for each species. As in The Sims 2: Pets, kittens, puppies, and foals cannot be made in Create a Pet, and unicorns also cannot be created. Players will also be able to customize their pets' appearance.[1] In The Sims 3: Pets, the "location" of Create a Pet is inside a barn, unlike Create a Sim, which is in a house.

The Sims 4

In The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs, cats, dogs, foxes, and raccoons[2] can be made in Create a Pet, and there are many pre-made breeds for them. Players will be able to customize their pets' appearance and even make their own breeds. Create a Pet borrows the same click and drag mechanic from Create a Sim, making players able to sculpt and mold their pets to have more details and features.

In The Sims 4: Horse Ranch, horses can be made in Create a Pet with many horse breeds to choose from. Players can customize the horses' appearance and make their own breeds. Unlike The Sims 3, unicorns can be created directly in Create a Pet by adding a horn.
