Dew is an inventory object in The Sims 3: Into the Future. It can be acquired from large flowers in the Utopian Future of Oasis Landing, and to some extent in the opportunity quest line that changes the future from Normal to Utopian.
They can be thrown on other Sims, used on the Sim that has it in the inventory, mixed into drinks (which does not require any bars and results in a Mysterious Drink), or blown dew bubbles with (which does not result in any skin color changes or moodlets).
There are three types:
- Dew, also known as Mysterious Dew. Comes in colors Light Blue, Blue, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Red, and Green. They will change the skin color of the Sim they're used on, and will give a +10 moodlet for 3 hours. There is also a Black color, which has a random outcome from among the other 8.
- Rainbow Dew, also known as Curious Dew. Rainbow-colored. The Sim it's used on has a 50% chance to either get the Wonderland moodlet and all effects of the Wonderland Sim hidden trait; or to get the Retching Rainbow -15 moodlet for 4 hours and vomit occasionally during that time.
- Clear Dew. Dark grey-black colored. Instantly removes all effects caused by all other dews, including the Wonderland moodlet.
Exclusive to being in Oasis Landing in its Utopian state, a Sim can start a dew fight in the same way as how water balloon fights worked like in The Sims 3: Seasons: Sims will stand around and attempt to throw and dodge each other's thrown bottles. This does not actually require having any dew in the inventories. If both Seasons and Into the Future is installed, team dew fights can also be held at a Family Fun Water Arena while in Oasis Landing in its Utopian state.
Wonderland
A successful outcome of Rainbow Dew while in the Utopian Future, is that the Sim will get the Wonderland trait, which has many effects. They will walk as the Stride of Pride by default, be very often happy, more or less autonomously hug nearby Sims, and can use the "Hug Self", "Whimsy Waltz", and "Throw Confetti" interactions.
Known ways to remove the trait, include:
- Clear Dew.
- Having an active household Plumbot with both the Sinister Circuits and Mood Adjuster trait chips be told to use "Sadness Beam" on the Sim.
- Returning to the Sim's present-day regular world, as the trait is only active while in the Utopian Future, and successful Rainbow Dew outcomes in regular worlds last 3 hours instead of indefinitely.
Notes
- If a Sim mixes a Mysterious Drink and then drinks it themselves, they get the Prank Backfire! -10 moodlet for 1 hour, similar to drinking concealed potions[TS3:G] or falling for one's own prank.

A Dew Plant is the easiest way to acquire dew. Sims can "Collect Dew", which will give them 1-4 random dew bottles; or they can "Shake" the flower, which will either give the Sim a short shower that slightly improves hygiene, a water flush that gives them the Soaked moodlet, or nothing happens.
A game mod exists to make the 6 dew plant colors available in Buy and Build Mode.
