A dig site is a type of spawner that produces buried rare relics in The Sims 3: World Adventures, The Sims 3: Into the Future, and The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure, and relatively more common items in The Sims 3: Pets.

There are several kinds of dig sites, and each provides relics unique to a specific location, or otherwise specific in kind. For example, the dig sites in Shang Simla will only yield Chinese relics. However some dig sites only yield fragments.
Players can place dig site spawners on lots using the "testingcheatsenabled 1" → "buydebug" cheats. The known ones are:

Dig sites can be placed on non-lot terrain in Create a World. With lifetime rewards like "Learned Relic Hunter" and the Tear of Horus, dig sites can be easily spotted for excavating collectibles relics.

Dog-specific dig sites are often found throughout the main worlds. Only dogs can interact with them; for households without dogs, they can become a nuisance.

The Wasteland in Oasis Landing comes with Into the Future-specific dig sites and spawners that can, among other things, reveal parts of the key to the Crash Site.

Normally the sites spawn from the "Digsite Spawner - Wasteland" object in "Buydebug" → "⛬ Misc. Objects". A standalone immediate debris site object also exists in the game's code as digSiteEP11

If Oasis Landing is in the Utopian Future, a different type of dig spots can also be found on the grass plains or downtown. It shows 6 stones in a circle formation and a patch of sand. Often a small rainbow will also point towards the dig site, which can happen even in the middle of night.

The Sims 4: Jungle Adventure
While vacationing in Selvadorada, Sims may encounter various dig sites. Sims can "Excavate" at these sites and find items such as unauthenticated artifacts, fossil rocks, artifact-shaped dirt clumps, and ancient bone dust. A standard dig site can only be used by a Sim once before disappearing and will give the Sim just one item, but a new dig site will respawn in the same location the next day. Excavating at these sites will increase a Sim's archaeology skill over time. At archaeology skill level 6, Sims unlock the ability to establish excavation sites. Excavation sites yield more items than a standard dig site, and allow for up to four Sims to dig at once. Players can place a dig site down on a lot by using the testingcheats true and bb.showhiddenobjects cheats.
