The driving range is an object in The Sims: Makin' Magic, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3: Showtime. It allows Sims to partake in the activity of playing golf.

Clown O' Tears Mini Golf

Originally a game from the 1920's, miniature golf didn't really take off until the 1950's when suburban leisure utopias first captured the imagination. Part of the appeal lay in the whimsical, fantastic course sculptures that appealed to the stimulation-deprived children of the day. The Execuputter is a career reward object, unlocked after reaching level 5 (becoming Executive) of the business career. Using it raises Fun motive, as well as builds the charisma skill at an accelerated rate.

Any time is tee time with the Slice of Life portable golf driving range. Have a ball - or a whole bucket! - as you tee off into the ocean, woods or the side of your annoying neighbor's house. Fore!

Sims use the tee one at a time, and will hit shots every now and then. Though the ball vanishes after around 20yd and that players can't see it land, each individual tee nevertheless keep a high score measurement of the farthest shot hit from it, often in excess of 200yd.

Using the driving range increases the Athletic skill relatively slowly as well as increasing the hidden Golfing skill. The Hygiene motive will plummet when using it, as if it was a very intensive gym exercise object.

Sims always approach the tee from the left, and will complain about routing errors if approached from the right, behind, or ahead.

For Sims with the Athletic trait, a bonus is applied to the distance that they can hit a shot. For Sims with the Loser trait, a penalty is applied instead.
