
Getaways are a gameplay feature introduced The Sims 4: Adventure Awaits. Getaways are a form of highly customizable vacations that allow the player to change the times, schedules, and the rules of their getaway while it's ongoing.
Planning location & time
Sims can start a getaway from their phones, computers, or from the calendar; when opening the panel, players can select the location and times, and can also select an option to make the getaway a reoccurring weekly event.
Next to the drop down button used to select the number of days the getaway should last, players can select the hour of the final day that the getaway should end.
Above the end hour dropdown, players can choose to make the getaway a reoccurring event and select which days it will occur. Players can choose any day of the week and select multiple days. However, it isn't possible to create a getaway that reoccurs every day of the week, as the game will prevent the player from selecting the seventh day.
Scheduling
Schedules can be edited and changed even while a getaway is ongoing, allowing for activities and roles to be assigned to different timeslots.
Getaway rules
There are various rules that can be selected for a getaway, which can add directions or challenges for the participating Sims.
Players can select from 14 rules, but can only assign up to 5 of them.
