Materialistic is a lifestyle trait in The Sims 4. It is only available for teens and older, and conflicts with the freegan[TS4:EL] and generous[TS4:FR] traits.
"These Sims can Admire and Brag about Possessions and become Sad [sic] when they haven't purchased a new item for a period of time."
Attributes
- Materialistic Sims will get the "I Love Things!" Happy moodlet when they admire new furniture.
- After the player buys something new, an interaction "Admire" becomes available.
- After the player buys something new, an interaction "Admire" becomes available.
- Materialistic Sims will get the "Stale Surroundings" moodlet (Tense, not Sad as claimed in the in-game text for the trait) when they have old furniture.
- Materialistic Sims can complain about their belongings in their home.
- Materialistic Sims unlock the "Brag about Possessions" social interaction.
- Materialistic Sims will cry after evacuating a house fire
