Overwatch is a game mod developed by NRaas Industries that attempts to correct known errors produced by the game in The Sims 3. It runs in the background and automatically attempts to correct any problems that it finds, such as unroutable Sims, corrupted game data, and references to content that no longer exist.
It also performs a nightly cleanup (5 AM in Bridgeport, 3 AM elsewhere; these times can be changed in the manual settings) to reset various objects, delete abandoned vehicles, turn off televisions and stereos in inactive households, and recover missing or abandoned Sims. The mod will produce a notification reporting on any actions it takes.
An example of a notification given by Overwatch's nightly cleanup routine.
Overwatch creates a new pie menu entry on the active Sim and at city halls, allowing players to configure its settings. However, it is designed to work out of the box and can start working as soon as it is installed.
Overwatch has been praised for its ability to improve game performance.[1][2]
