Seashells are an item that can be found on beach lots in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage and The Sims 4: Island Living, and spread around a bit above and below the ocean in The Sims 3: Island Paradise.
The Sims 2 Bon Voyage
Seashells can be found on Twikkii Island beach lots in The Sims 2: Bon Voyage. They can be collected while using the interaction "Comb for Seashells". Sims will not always find seashells, but those who do can use seashells as decorations and will be placed into their inventory, which can be accessed once the Sim finishes their vacation and returns home.
The Sims 3: Island Paradise

Serves as collectibles generated by spawners, with spawners being available both for land and for diving spots. 8 types of shells are known to exist.
