The Sims 3 (Wii)
In the Wii version of The Sims 3, Sims are able to swim and surf the waters of Vista Beach. A kitesurf can be purchased through buy mode or from Vista Beach Surf Club for §80. The kitesurf must be placed in the Sim's inventory, and the Sim must be swimming in any body of water for it to be used. Kitesurfing increases the athletic (skill).

A surfing wave station is available for 342 SimPoints. is also featured in the Surf's Up Sun and Fun Collection, which is available from The Sims 3 Store for 1,400 SimPoints.
The wave station can be placed both in a pool and in open water, and fits one Sim at a time.
Seals
If the wave station is placed in open water, a seal will frequently swim under the station and attack Sims. If the Sim used a custom surfboard from their inventory, the seal will break the board. However, despite what the moodlets and notifications imply, it is not known to be possible for a Sim to die from such an attack.
Secret skill
The "Surfing Skill" goes from 0-10, and determines the ability to perform tricks and to gain positive moodlets from surfing.
