Water trough is an object in The Sims 3: Pets, which horses can use to improve their Thirst motive and to "Splash Around".

By default, the trough must be refilled by a Sim after it has been drank from 24 times. Sims with Handiness Level 3 can give it the Auto Fill update, which counts as a unique reparation for the Tinkerer challenge.
