The Friend Gifting feature is an in-game gifting system introduced in Patch 38. Players must have a working internet connection in order to use this feature.
Friend Gifting enables players with accounts on TheSims3.com to send gifts to one another, ranging from furniture to elixirs[TS3:SN].
Larger gifts such as décor and furniture will be automatically placed in the family inventory. Smaller gifts such as elixirs will be placed in the receiving Sim's inventory. Some gifts may be sent in a surprise gift box, which may rarely include Simoleons.
Functionality
Gifts can be sent to other players through the in-game online profile system. Sending a gift will remove the selected item from the sender's Sim inventory. The recipient can access received gifts through the Gift tab and may need to manually accept them.
Sending a gift awards the sender's active Sim 600 lifetime happiness points and the Gift of Giving moodlet. After accepting the gift, the recipient may send a gift in return.
Notes
- When sending an object that requires a certain expansion pack, the receiver of the gift must have that expansion pack registered in order to receive the gift.
- A player is only allowed to send five gifts per day. Receiving is, however, unlimited.
Eligible elixirs[TS3:SN] have a green icon on the lower left of its thumbnail in the inventory.
