Hunter is a pet trait featured in The Sims 3: Pets and The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs.
The Sims 3: Pets
The Hunter trait is available for dogs and cats. In the console version, it is only available for cats, while dogs have the similar digger trait.
Pets with the Hunter trait are excellent at stalking and catching prey.[TS3P]

Attributes
- Pets will gain the Hunting skill more quickly.
- Pets will autonomously hunt more often.
- Pets with this trait are more likely to win fights against other pets.

The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs
The Hunter trait is only available for dogs, but there is a functionally equivalent cat trait called Prowler. It has no conflicts.
These dogs are natural hunters. Send them off into the world and they'll hunt and dig for things.
Attributes
- Dog will autonomously hunt in a bush, and may find feathers.
- Dog will autonomously dig in dirt piles, and may find a Mysterious Gift Box.
- Sim can send their dog hunting.
