In the mainline games in The Sims franchise, some features have required not just one expansion pack, but sometimes 2 (or in theory 3 or more). This page lists some such cases.
The Sims
Hot Date + House Party/Unleashed
The town overview if both Hot Date and House Party are installed while Unleashed is not.
The objects on the community lots in Downtown in The Sims: Hot Date differ noticeably depending on which other expansion packs that are installed.
- If both The Sims: Hot Date and The Sims: House Party are installed, while The Sims: Unleashed is not installed: Various tiki, disco, and country objects are on the lots. Certain buildings' exteriors are also changed.
- If both The Sims: Hot Date and The Sims: Unleashed are installed: Various pet-related objects are on the lots.
Hot Date + Makin' Magic
If both Hot Date and The Sims: Makin' Magic are installed, leaving partly-filled honey jars after harvesting a beehive, can have Claire the Bear try to steal the honey, but she may be driven off by angry bees.
The Sims 3
If certain expansion packs are installed, some lot types added by default to most worlds on new savefiles:
- Ambitions: Fire Station, Salon, Consignment store, Junkyard
- Pets: Equestrian center
- Showtime: Karaoke bar, Private venue, Coffeehouse
- Supernatural: Elixir consignment store, Supernatural hangout
- Seasons: Festival grounds
Supernatural + Seasons
Requires both The Sims 3: Supernatural and The Sims 3: Seasons. Spawns on a randomly selected community lot on new savefiles. Supernatural's life states can attempt to make it cause special weather effects, including a light fog that benefits vampires, special snowfall that benefits werewolves, green rain that makes other Sims dance, and flower rain that refreshes gardening plants.
Seasons + Into the Future
If the active household is in the Utopian Future of Oasis Landing, dew fights become an available option on the Family Fun Water Arena.
The Sims 4
Cats & Dogs + My First Pet Stuff
Pet clothes require both The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs and The Sims 4: My First Pet Stuff, which caused some controversy among players and on games-focused newssites upon the release of My First Pet Stuff.
Seasons + Snowy Escape
Mt. Komorebi has exclusive weather for winter.

Seasons + Eco Lifestyle
If both The Sims 4: Seasons and The Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle are installed, beehives become able to also be farmed for wax blocks, instead of only being able to be farmed for honey.
