The Ratticator is the player Sim's heroic alterego in The Sims 2 for Nintendo DS. The Ratticator plays a major role at the end of the game, as it is required to be used in order to defeat the final boss of the game, Optimum Alfred.
The Ratticator is unlocked whenever the rat cave is built. This costs §3500 usually, but, if the player hasn't built it after Ava Cadavra leaves the hotel, Tristan Legend will build it for the player anyways (if the player has already built it by this point in the story, the player will be given §3000 Simoleons instead). Tristan is also implied to have been the previous Ratticator.
As the Ratticator, the player can clear goons, robots and aliens through a series of quick-time-events. Although aliens can also be eliminated with the water pistol, this method is a much quicker.
It and its room, the Rat Cave, are likely references to the superhero Batman.
