Ray's relationships with other townies are usually randomized at the start of the game. He has the same facial structure and outfit as fellow townie Donte Shaw. Even though he has brown hair, his SimDNA in SimPE reveals that his natural hair color is red. Although Ray works for the Ramirez family, he doesn't even know them. Additionally, when editing in SimPE, it can be seen that he has pre-set relationships with Stephen and Wanda Tinker, Sims who don't own any businesses.

Ray doesn't have any skills or talent badges at the start of the game, so it doesn't really matter which task the player assigns him to do. His name is randomized when Bluewater Village is generated. The name "Ray Bui" is only referenced in the game files.
