Ron Tinker is one of the pre-made deceased ancestral Sims who resided during his lifetime in Bluewater Village, the shopping district sub-neighborhood shipped with The Sims 2: Open for Business. He was the husband of Lauren, the father of Stephen, and the grandfather of Melody. He has personality points and interests, something not every ancestral Sim has. He is completely resurrectable, even though he doesn't have a grave.

Ron has the Fortune aspiration and the Aries zodiac sign. As far as personality, he is very outgoing, quite active, and somewhat neat, but he is quite serious and rather grouchy. This may explain why his granddaughter is not very playful. Ron knew his daughter-in-law Wanda's parents and has memories of them dying. According to his SimDNA in SimPE, his hair was brown before it turned gray. According to Ron's age data in SimPE, he had 15 days left in the elder life stage when he died. His facial structure is almost, if not completely, identical to the 1st Maxis face template in Create a Sim.

The translation description for his given name mentions that it was copied from Live.package. For the last name, it mentions that it was copied from B001_Neighborhood.package.
