A volcano is a large geographical feature found occasionally through SimNation. They tend to be dormant tall craters, or active volcanos that can erupt.

Additionally, hot springs seen in many worlds are implied to be the result of volcanic activity.

The Lava Pools 2

The Lava Pools on Volcano Island, just south of the main Felicity Island, contain densely placed lava lakes. The islands' general volcano network erupts frequently.

Hot Property

A very similar setup of lava lakes is found on the residential lot Hot Property.

The rightmost island in the archipelago, Volcano Island, encompasses a central tall volcano with magma inside. Deep within the volcano's interior is the Llama Temple, an ancient structure that once served as the palace of the ancestral Llama people.

The volcano can be entered in two ways. One method is by assembling a complete hieroglyphic stele, created by collecting all nine pieces found across the islands, which reveals a hidden staircase leading to the temple within the volcano. Alternatively, Sims may reach the Volcano Overlook by crossing the Geyser Plains. From there, a Sim with a body skill level of 9-10 and a sufficiently high mood can attempt the strenuous climb up the volcano to the Volcano Summit.

The Volcano Summit is the highest point in the entire archipelago. After reaching the summit, the player and their crew can be rescued by sending an S.O.S. signal using the repaired radio and transmitter.

Frequent earthquakes across the islands may be attributed to the volcano's seismic activity, although the eruptions themselves are never directly seen. After repairing the ceremonial forge inside the volcano's temple, a massive earthquake will occur, leading to the formation of Crystal Island and the clearing of a landslide obstructing North Volcano Jungle.

Lunar Lakes

Craters subdistrict

Lunar Lakes appears to have two tall mountains with volcano-like craters in them. Besides a couple lakes in them, the volcanos appear to have become dormant well in advance of the Lunar Lakes settlement arriving on that plant.

The atoll contains a very large mountain on one end, with an abandoned warehouse on top. Though lava can be seen bubbling inside the crater, the volcano does not appear to be active.

The Mua Pel'am northern subdistrict of Sulani has a very much active volcano. It occasionally has rock-based eruptions, which can cause Sims hit by the rocks to catch fire.

One nearby residential lot, Caldera Camp, even has the Volcanic Activity lot challenge, adding the possibility of steam cracks and broken objects on the lot during eruptions.
