Miniopolis is one of the major cities in SimNation. It is the location of The Urbz: Sims in the City for the Nintendo's Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS handheld consoles.
Its name is a combination of the word "mini," short for "miniature," and the suffix "-polis," meaning city. Therefore, the name of the city means "miniature city."
The main antagonist is named Daddy Bigbucks. He buys King Tower in Glasstown and plans to demolish Miniopolis, then rebuild an exact replica with ticket windows and entrance fees.
Miniopolis is mentioned in The Sims 2 for Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and PlayStation Portable.
Districts
Urbania
Urbania is the first area unlocked after the tutorial. It is primarily characterized by a run-down urban environment and serves as the player's introduction to many new Urbz.
The district contains several locations, including the Jail, the office of Miniopolis Chronicle, the Miniopolis Hospital, and the Miniopolis University. It also houses one of the secret entrances to Club Xizzle, as well as the Junked Schoolbus, found near the Chopper Garage. Commerce locations include the Second Looks Thrift Emporium, Slice O' Life Pizza Bar, and Drifter Woods. In the middle of Urbania is the park, where grills are available for use. Two houses are available for purchase.
Four minigames are found in Urbania: Hoopz, Doctor Max Stat!, Comic Explosion, and Motocross Mayhem.
Sim Quarter
Sim Quarter is the 2nd area to be unlocked. It is comprised mainly of a farmer's market and pier. This area contains Salty's Riverboat, the Graveyard, Crawfish Shack, Epoch Museum, Fortune Teller's Shop (ran by Mambo Loa), Sim Quarter Farmer's Market, Zeke's Zydeco Club, Café Multiplaya[URBZ GBA]/Café Z-Bach[URBZ DS], and a townhouse that the player can purchase.
Found on the pier are the minigames Moogoo Monkey, in Salty's Riverboat, and Yar Hey! Bombard![URBZGBA].
Glasstown
Although the player begins the game inside King Tower, other areas are not accessible until the final section of the main story. It contains the Carnival, Cinema d'Urbania, Glasstown Mega-Mall, an entrance to Club Xizzle, Rep Group Clubhouses, the Coffee Shop, a city apartment, and King Tower, which in and of itself contains Lily Gates' Office, Waters Gym, Daddy Bigbucks' office, and a penthouse. The player can play miscellaneous carnie games at the carnival and Squeegee Clean at the top of King Tower.
Bayou
The player's Urb wakes up here after being tossed into the water, and all the missions are about escaping and helping out the two residents, Bayou Boo and Crawdad Clem. There is not much in the area other than the Twins' Bayou Shack. The player can play a minigame called "Soul Music" with the Red Man in this area as well, in the Hickory Stump.
Paradise Island
Paradise Island is a small island with a beach. It has a small store which sells tiki themed items, and a hammock for the Urb to sleep on. During a mission, the player will play a reality TV show on it.
Splicer Island
Splicer Island is only included in the DS version. After 10 days, Futo Maki has used the monkeys in the ruins and worked on it. Splicer Island will be rebuilt and now the player can do all of the good stuff which includes gene splicing and pet contests.

Trivia
- Due to references in-game, the name of the city could be a parody of Metropolis, the major city in the Superman franchise.
- Although the name sounds like the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, this is likely a coincidence, as the city appears to be based on New Orleans, Louisiana.
