A show stage is a surface where Sims can hold performances to an audience, oftentimes for a salary.
The Urbz: Sims in the City
A show stage is present in Cozmo Street, where Sims can hold music shows or swing flaming swords.

The Show Stage (8x7), or simply referred to as the stage, is a buydebug object in The Sims 3: Showtime. As the name implies, the stage is used to hold shows for the performing sims. It is an essential object for Showtime-type gigs to be completed and for the SimFest event to be held.
If the performer in question is a controlled or that of a SimPort sent Sim, the player will have the choice to choose a setup of the stage. By clicking on the stage or waiting for the prompt, the player can choose to use the venue's current setup, previously saved setup or a custom one. Picking the custom setup option will switch the game to build mode and give the player the limited ability to decorate and renovate the stage with stage props.
The stage has various slots for props, but is picky about which objects are allowed on its slots, generally only allowing objects that are either:
- In the "Sort by Function" → "Stage Props" category.
- Showtime light/FX devices in "Sort by Function" → "Entertainment" → "Parties". (Late Night devices are not known to be supported.)
- DJ booths.
- The Hypnotizer.[Store]
It has 26 large slots for standard props (Tested with the non-functional Snare Thee Well Drum), and 3 very large slots for performance objects like the Great Ring of Fire and The Hypnotizer. One of those 3 very large slots can also hold a DJ booth.
A Show Stage (6x7) also exists in the game files. It was deprecated and hid away by the time Showtime was released, but can be restored by editing its OBJD file with the "Grid" mode in FullBuild_p12.package with S3PE. It lacks a carpet of its own, but flooring can be placed underneath. A mod exists to restore the stage. It has 20 large slots and 1 very large slot, which also supports a DJ booth.

Generates approximately 270 non-interactable and unnamed spectators during stage performances on the lot. The closer they stand to the gap in front, the more detailed they look. Multiple crowd generators can be added to the same lot, and they can be used on all performance-eligible lot assignments (and not just in big show venues).
The spectators will usually stand in the 26x14 area (or sit in the 26x16 area) closest to the front gap, leaving the back and sides of the spectator areas empty.
