Swords are a type of item that Sims can utilise in sparring each other and dueling. Swords were first introduced in The Sims Medieval and then was reintroduced in The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy.

Swords were first introduced with The Sims Medieval. Swords can be used by any Sims for partaking in duelling, certain Hero Sims will require using them for the job responsibilities such as the Monarch and the Knight as well as being able to be constructed by Blacksmiths.
Duelling to the death is only achievable through the use of swords making swords one of the ways Sims can directly kill another Sim in The Sims franchise.

The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy

Swords are reintroduced with The Sims 4: Royalty & Legacy. Swords are tied to the Swordsmanship skill and can be used by Sims in duelling. Sims can use swords for normally duelling but Noble Sims can use swords to duel for royal titles or other reasons.
Swords can be purchased by the Verdemar Blacksmith. There are 11 total swords including one sword known as Simcalibur which can grant Sims the title of Kingdom Leader as a noble.

| 2 | Sim can now sign up for Swordsmanship Tournaments in any Gazebo located in the Dambele, Verdemar, or Bellacorde neighborhoods in Ondarion. Also, the Blacksmith in Verdemar believes Sim is fit to wield a Classic Longsword. Finally, they can also Duel other Sims for Simoleons. Gotta earn that dough! |
| 3 | Sim is now able to Duel for a Sim's Heart. they can challenge a fellow suitor for the sole attention of a Sim who is in a romantic relationship with both of them. What a spectacular conclusion to a love triangle! |
| 4 | Sim can now duel the parents or Dynasty Head of their intended spouse for Permission to Marry. They are more likely to win Swordsmanship Duels and have a better chance to pull off skilled moves! |
