The Sims 4: Growing Together is the thirteenth expansion pack for The Sims 4. It was leaked on February 1, 2023[1] and was officially announced on February 2, 2023. The pack was released on March 16, 2023 on all platforms. It can be considered a spiritual successor to The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff and The Sims 3: Generations, with its focus on family, childhood and intergenerational activities. It includes a new urban world called San Sequoia which is based on the San Francisco Bay Area.
Official Description
Settle in San Sequoia, a bustling town with historic roots, and live a rich family life full of sleepovers, drama, and self-discovery. Let your parents move in with you - or don't - and see how that affects your relationships. Navigate a midlife crisis and come out with new personality traits. Meet a stranger and have instant chemistry - or instant friction. There's a lot to experience, together.

A Lasting Impact
Key choices and milestones will help to shape who your Sims are. Unlock and change personality traits throughout your Sims’ lives as they cope with midlife crises, respond to family requests to move in, and more. Self-discovery is a lifelong journey.

Social Dynamics
Sometimes Sims just click. Your Sim might have natural social chemistry with a Sim they meet at a party – or they might naturally clash. Your Sim will now have preferences that determine which Sims they are socially compatible with, and which Sims are more likely to become their enemies.

Family Ties
The bonds between your related Sims are important and complex. As they experience life together there will be opportunities for both drama and unity that will affect family dynamics and Sims’ relationships with their family members.

Perfect for Families
Located along an ocean bay, San Sequoia was once a small fishing village and has grown into a bustling town. It features quiet suburbs, a lively rec center, a tight-knit community, and even an influential local family – the Robleses.

New Features
World and Neighborhoods
The Sims 4: Growing Together includes San Sequoia, a brand new world based on the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to the many family-sized homes, San Sequoia has a library as well as a recreation center, the new lot assignment that came with the pack. San Sequoia has three neighborhoods: Anchorpoint Wharf, Hopewell Hills, and Gilbert Gardens. It has a total of 12 lots.
Family Dynamics
Family dynamics are a new feature added to the game, which can influence the way Sims autonomously interact with family members. There are seven new dynamics, and the availability of these dynamics depends on the familial relationship. The family dynamic between two Sims can be set by the player in the Household Relationships panel in CAS. Dynamics can also be discovered by responding to pop-ups that occasionally appear following interaction between the two Sims.
The two Sims will receive unique moodlets and autonomously perform appropriate social interactions when spending time together, and their dynamic may change as their relationship develops overtime. Another way to change the family dynamic between two Sims is by using a keepsake box. Once an elder Sim designates the box as a family keepsake, Sims can "Ponder the Meaning of Family" and use it change existing dynamics.
Milestones
Milestones are a new feature added to the game, with a system similar to that of the Memories systems from The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. Each Sim has their own milestone panel which can be accessed in the Simology tab, where the milestones are grouped by category. The player can view all of a Sim's milestones or filter by life stage. Some milestones, especially in the case of infants, must be unlocked in a specific order. For example, an infant must reach the "Learned to Sit Up" milestone before they can reach the "First Baby Food" milestone.
Social Compatibility
Social compatibility is a new feature added to the game, which affects the likelihood of two Sims getting along with each other. When two Sims meet, their personality traits and Sim Characteristics likes and dislikes will determine their compatibility with one another. The better the compatibility, the easier it is for the two Sims to build their relationship with one another. There are five levels of social compatibility, ranging from "Awful" to "Amazing". The level of compatibility between two Sims can be viewed in the Relationships panel.
