A furniture store (unofficial name) is a type of store in The Sims Bustin' Out (handheld), The Urbz: Sims in the City (handheld), and The Sims 2: Pets (GBA), and a type of rabbit hole in The Sims 3 and The Sims 3: Pets for Nintendo 3DS.

The Sims Bustin' Out (handheld)[]

The game is one of very few life simulation games in the Sims franchise to not have Buy Mode or Build Mode, and also one of very few where practically no objects have hard pricing. As such, furniture stores play a very big role in the game.

There are 4 such stores in the game, all of which have daily rotating selections. Sims can also sell certain inventory objects, similar to consignment stores[TS3:A].

General Store[]

Store

Located in the northwest district. Open from 5 AM - 8 PM (20:00). Offers 4 objects daily. The lot is unlocked after completing mission 1-5, "Earn Some Simoleons".

After having started mission 2-3, "Serve the Public", the store hosts nightly auctions from 5 PM - 8 PM (17:00-20:00). During an auction, one of each of the 4 objects that were sold earlier in the day, is sold in an auction process where the player Sim competes against 3 NPCs to have the highest bid in order to buy the object.

On-lot objects[]

The Riddle Machine[]

Boh giuseppi at van

A sales truck run by Giuseppi Mezzoalto. It is placed north of Boat Docks, on a dead end road near the northwest wall of the Cheatum and Howe's Retail. Open from 9 PM (21:00) to 5 AM. Offers 4 objects daily. The truck becomes accessible after completing mission 2-4, "Clear the Roadblock", but becomes inaccessible after completing mission 5-?, "Apprehend the Van Man".

The Urbz: Sims in the City (handheld)[]

As Urbz is a sequel to Bustin' Out it utilizes similar gameplay mechanics.

Second Looks Thrift Emporium[]

Second Looks Thrift Emporium is a general shop located on the east end of Urbania in Miniopolis. The emporium is owned by Phoebe Twiddle, who moved from SimValley prior to the game's events. It is open daily from 9 AM to 10 PM (09:00 - 22:00), while the auction runs from 5 PM to 7 PM (17:00 - 19:00).

The Sims 3 (Nintendo 3DS) / The Sims 3: Pets (Nintendo 3DS)[]

If a playable Sim enters it, the player will be presented with a selection of 12 furniture items that can be bought, including paintings, lamps, couches, and showers. Most objects there are also found in Buy Mode, but a handful can only be found at the store, for instance the The Exercise Queen in The Sims 3: Pets (Nintendo 3DS).

While it has some similarities to consignment stores, Sims cannot offer to sell their items there.
