
Focused is an emotion available in The Sims 4. It generally occurs when a Sim engages in or prepares for mentally stimulating tasks. This emotion can evolve into Very Focused with enough moodlet points. The Focused emotion can speed up mental interactions.
Stages
- Focused: 1-7, 1-5 for Teens
- Very Focused: 8+, 6+ for Teens

These traits affect how often a Sim is focused.
- Genius (Emotional Trait): Sims with this trait will randomly become focused from time to time.
- Practice Makes Perfect (Emotional Trait): Sims with this trait will become focused when building any skill category, as well as after having a mindful walk.
- Geek (Hobby Trait): Sims with this trait will become focused when finishing the gaming session.
- Perfectionist (Lifestyle Trait): Sims with this trait will become focused when creating a top-tier quality of creations.
- Competitive[TS4:AA] (Lifestyle Trait): Sims with this trait will become focused when leveled up on any skill, as well as playing games such as chess and/or video games.
These events may lead to a focused moodlet regardless of a Sim's traits:
- Playing chess or pondering moves on the chess table
- Using a microscope
- Using a telescope or a backyard observatory
- Upgrading an object
- Achieving the highest quality of creations (books, paintings, crafted flowers[TS4:S] and candles[TS4:EL])
- Playing games on a computer
- Using an overclocked computer
- Reading Simpedia articles on the computer

Object Auras
These are items found, bought, or earned in the game that can emit a focus aura in the area around the object. Players can choose to enable or disable the aura at any time. Once enabled, a Sim can interact with the object, through viewing or using it, and they will earn a +# focus moodlet. Whether their mood changes to focused or not depends on the other moodlets affecting the Sim at that time.

Trivia
- Internally, Very Focused is referred to as "In the Zone".
- Using a laser pointer while Focused will make the light match the emotion's color and take on the shape of concentric circles.
